5/16" G70 Eye Slip Hook w/Safety Latch & Attached .437 Welded Link
A 5/16" forged eye slip hook with safety latch and a .437" welded link attached. The eye body hangs eye to eye from the welded link, so the hook pulls straight, and the heavier latch keeps the chain link or ring captive when the leg goes slack, which is where a light latch usually gives up. The welded link is the attachment point for chain, a strap end fitting, or cluster rigging on auto transport and towing setups. Working Load Limit is 3,333 lbs.
Grade 70 is transport grade and is not rated for overhead lifting. Stay under the rated Working Load Limit and look the hook over before every use. Retire it if the hook, latch, or welded link is cracked, bent, gouged, or deformed.
